Student Grades
Student grades are calculated based on the following percentages:
Critical Thinking 25%
This grade reflects the student’s ability to perform higher order thinking
skills including evaluation, synthesis and problem solving.
Content 25%
This grade represents the students knowledge and understanding of topics presented
in this course based on California Content Standards.
Oral Communication 15%
This grade reflects the student’s ability to present in front of groups.
Includes evaluation of eye contact, voice projection, body language and organization
and preparation.
Written Communication 15%
This grade reflects the student’s ability to use the rules of written
communication, including grammar, spelling, sentence construction and essay
organization.
Work Ethic 20%
This grade reflects the student’s ability to turn in assignments on time,
to give their best effort and to participate in classroom activities. Meaningful
contribution to group work is also included.
