When it's really hot, sometimes you just have to cool off...

The last few days have been really warm here. Highs in the upper 80s. Now, I know that's not that hot, but with the humidity, it's pretty uncomfortable. On days like that, when it's hard to cool off, you just have to take matters in to your own hands. Like today. Mom and dad took me out in the front yard, cause the house was just too warm. As it happens, they were watering the lawn at the time. So, being a smart kid, I decided to cool off a bit.

Here I am, making my move. These things are pretty sneaky. They lull you in to a false sense of security. The water moves this way, then it moves that way. Then it moves this way, then that way. All rather mesmerising, the to-and-fro movement a gentle whisper of promised delights, the sinuous waving a gentle dance of refreshing cool. It contols me. It compells me. It calls me closer and closer...

Eeek! Tricked! I was so distracted by the soothing waves of droplets, I lost track of the movement of the water. The darn thing's got me! Hmm...wait a minute...this isn't so bad...rather refreshing...

Uh-oh. I haven't figured out how to reverse yet, so there's nothing for it. I've just got to keep up the advance, and press on. Perhaps if I can get close enough, I can overwhelm it with my superior strength.

Ahhhh! A surprise attack!!

I wonder what this dial does? Perhaps it's the beast's weak spot.

If I look away, it can't get me. Arrgh...now I've got water in my ears. Curse you, and your sneaky water machine ways!!
